Dickies x Starter Snap-Backs

Spring/Summer 2012

Though virtually synonymous with the term “workwear”, Dickies is also the label of choice for guys who deliberately cultivate an anti-fashion stance.

Streetwear companies have picked up on the contrarian cool of the brand with a rich heritage that obviates trendiness, resulting in partnerships with the likes of Stussy and Alife. A collection of snapback caps, appropriately with streetwear forebear Starter, is the newest collaboration.

The caps come in solid and two-tone variations, with some featuring a 1920s logo straight from Dickies’ archives. These are slated for a spring/summer 2012 release.

WTAPS “Crossbones” Canvas Sneaker

Japanese label WTAPS, largely known in the States for their frequent collaborations with Vans, has this time struck out on its own to create a canvas sneaker that makes good use of its signature crossbones motif.

Combined with a tonal black toecap, white midsole and laces and branding on the tongue and heel, the shoe is striking in its simplicity.

It’s also a stark reminder that designer TET and his cohorts rarely stray from the brand’s core philosophy, “Placing things where they should be.” Available now at I.T Hysan.

Packer Shoes

Biz Markie

Backyard Barbeque

Summer heat brought on a good dose of fun 2 weekends ago as the one and only Biz Markie played chef at Backyard BBQ sponsored by Packer Shoes and PRO-Keds.  Harked back to the good old day’s of block parties, Biz met and greeted with fans old and young, from those who remembered him from the days of hip-hop to today as a frequent guest on Nickelodeon’s Yo Gabba Gabba.

The funny man was also there to launch an exclusive all-white edition of PRO-Keds 69ers, the 3rd edition to the collaborative effort between Biz Markie, PRO-Keds, and Packer Shoes.

If you missed the opportunity to swing by, PRO-Keds compiled a 3-minute recap video on all the happenings that day.  In the meantime, the Packer Shoes exclusive Biz Markie x PRO-Keds 69ers in all-white is now available for purchase via Packer Shoes online store.

Star Wars x adidas Originals

Fall/Winter 2011

Collection Lookbook

Darth Vader as school crossing guard? Wampa as a landscaper?

To make these ferocious, fictional characters more personable, adidas Originals placed them in everyday scenarios for its lookbook in the continuation of Star Wars x adidas Originals collaboration.

The focus and design theme were on the early half of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, where the Rebels attempted to hold back the advancing Imperial forces unsuccessfully on the frozen planet of Hoth.

Militarism silhouettes also took a major role in collection, with M65 Field Jacket and bomber-esque Flight Jacket as the apparel line’s cornerstones. As for footwear, the Forum Mid, Campus 80s, and Stan Smith 80, all took on transformations as characters in the movie, from the Campus 80s Wampa to the Stan Smith 80s Mid Vader.

Penny Hardaway

Nike Air Force 1 Low

Many years after his basketball career was cut short due to injuries, Penny Hardaway’s footwear legacy lives on, seeing a huge resurgence in recent years due to the rising status of the Foamposite line from Nike Sportswear.

We’ve been seeing the Penny logo more and more, and this time around it’s on a 1 of 1 pair of Air Force 1′s designed for the man himself.

This white based Air Force 1 gets spruced up with the same electric tones of blue that debuted on the OG Penny shoe, the Air Max Penny 1.

The icy soles on the bottom can be taken as a nod to the various Foamposite models that Penny made famous, making this Air Force 1 quite the mashup. As of right now these are a 1 of 1, but you never know if they might hit shelves.

Nike Zoom Huarache 2

Chicago Pack

Yeah yeah, we know, thanks to a certain Bulls shooting guard the idea of a Chicago colored shoe seems done to death at this point. But where’s the love on the baseball side of things?

Fans of America’s favorite pastime have no fear, the Zoom Huarache Trainer 2 is here in two separate colorways dedicated to the long standing rivalry between Chicago’s two MLB teams.

The Cubs edition is a white based trainer, with the signature blue and red finding their way onto the swoosh and accents of the shoe. The Sox version is a much darker affair, with a mixture of black and greys to match the uniform.

An extra bit of flavor on the Nike Zoom Huarache 2 Chicago Pack is the special insoles in each shoe that represent the metro lines to the stadiums of the respective teams. Hit the jump for more photos and grab a pair from SNYX if you wanna rep your team in this age old rivalry.

CONVERSE Black Canvas Collection

Similar to its footwear collection, the designs found on the new CONVERSE Black Canvas Collection celebrate the label’s heritage as well as the embodiments of modernity. Though its not CONVERSE‘s first foray into apparel design, Black Canvas will be the first stand-alone apparel collection for it.

This allowed its designers to take in inspirations from backstage of rock concerts, Army & Navy surpluses, to collegiate sports.

Timeless as well as current, each of these “muses” are found in the collection’s flannel shirts, pea coat, cargo pants, and henley. Urban rustic intertwined with preppy chic, beneath the layering of washed leather jacket and herringbone tweed blazer, a French terry jersey rumbled to perfection.

With Black Canvas’ expansive styles, the collection effortlessly covers all definitions of contemporary looks for men. You will find the new Black Canvas Collection at boutiques, department stores, and CONVERSE online store starting this month.

MAJOR x New Era

Summer 11 Hat Collection

MAJOR have prepared three versions of the New Era 59FIFTY caps to keep you cool for the summer. Blue is the key color that unites the fitteds and as you would expect, all of the caps go hand in hand with sneakers.

There is the True Blue Cement Insider that will balance well with True Blues and it features cement pattern embroidery inside their logo.

The Electric Blue Classic on the other hand is a much more basic cap that is aimed at matching the Retro Foamposite Pro. Once again their logo is embroidered on the front panel but in a single black tone for simplicity.

Last but not the least, MAJOR KNOWS model is made in a black/aqua colorway and it is accented by glow-in-the-dark threads used on the KNOWS section
